The ride to Braintree last Sunday was great! With a few odd turns it ended up being 48 miles from London; here’s the exact GPSed route we took. Then four of us turned right around and cycled home, making the total 100 solid miles. A good accomplishment!
Some moments that stick out in my mind:
- Luther getting a puncture before the ride even started
- George flying off his bike when he clipped Nick’s wheel (hope your rib’s alright dude!)
- Me: “Dimitrijs, how are you feeling?” Dimitrijs: “Not normal!”
- Liam, Tom, Luther, George and Nick speeding ahead like crazed banshees, only to realise later that they had missed a turn and were lost. We made them turn back around and come back to the rest of us.
- A good laugh with Stuart and Tom about Nature’s Kiss anti-chafe cream (it’s dual use)
- Finding a dead badger on the side of the road… BUT WAS IT A TRAP???
- Bartender at the pub in Braintree where we ate: “Why did you come to Braintree?”
- The lightning quick ride back to London with Liam, Tom and Anton… god we went fast
