Met up with some friends and new friends yesterday evening to watch a special Blur show in London’s Hyde Park. As a long time fan (albeit not as hardcore as Jennifer) I felt so excited and fortunate at the prospect of seeing them play live for the first time.
This was an opportunity I had never had when I was growing up: the English-centric Blur toured Toronto, New York, etc., but never down yonder on the Chattahoochee. They played in Atlanta in 2003, however, as Jen rightly points out, Graham Coxon wasn’t in the band at the time so it wasn’t really Blur.
Last night was different - authentic, energetic, nostalgic, and plain rockin’.
