Music is very important in Canada for the development of modernculture and there are many different types of [musical] groups. In thepast, well-loved music was in traditional styles with French andBritish origins. In addition, First Nations’ [Indian] music, which isconsidered the national music. The Indians used only drums andpercussion in their music, much like Islamic music, the main reasonbeing that Indian music is mostly religious and spiritual.
